ADVANCE NOTICE 2026 Australian National Match Exhibition
When – Saturday 2nd May 10.00am-5.00pm & Sunday 3rd May 10.00am-4.00pm
Where – SAPHIL House, 22 Gray Court, Adelaide, South Australia (off Sturt Street)
The AMCCS (SA Branch) will host this Special National Exhibition celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the Invention of the Friction Match by John Walker, a Chemist from Stockton-on-Tees in England. It will feature local and interstate dealers buying and selling matchbox labels, matchbooks, skillets, match hardware and other related ephemera. There will also be displays of matchbox labels, matchbooks, skillets and match hardware.
A raffle will be drawn and an auction held each day at 2.00pm with viewing of lots from 10.00am each day. Catering will be available in the hall both days with free admission and free parking in Sturt & Wright Streets (observe time limits before midday on the Saturday). The Club will also hold a special meeting at 8.00pm on the Friday evening 1st May at the same venue. All welcome.
